XAVIER DE SANTOS

MR BOWLER & THE WOMEN WHO KNEW

‘Mr Bowler & The Women Who Knew’ is a site-specific work devised and choreographed by Xavier De Santos in collaboration with Bath Spa University second-year BA Dance students, with dramaturgical support from Andras Gonczol.

Whispers travel through the museum walls, now transformed into J. B. Bowler’s factory. With their beloved employer suddenly absent, the women at the heart of his business race against the ticking clock to uncover a secret that could change the course of Bowler’s legacy and fate.

Guided by history, fiction and instinct, an all-female dance cast invite audiences to follow their journey in a promenade performance through the Museum of Bath at Work. This blend of dance, sound and the unique setting of the museum, celebrates the spirit of Bath’s working women and the industrial past that shaped the city.
